Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good. Be Good.

Amazon Finds: Resort Wear

Dictionary.com describes summer as the season for basking in the sun and enjoying the freedoms of vacation.  While it technically starts in June for us in the Northern Hemisphere, our brains are onto it before Spring even springs.  We are traveling for Spring Break in March and April and school is getting ready to let out around mid to the end of May and the only thing we can think about is getting somewhere where we can rest, wear comfy clothes and do nothing but soak up the sun and eat.

Vacations are super special to me.  If you have been following along for awhile or know me personally, it is no surprise to hear me say that. I love a good trip! I think travel does so much for you culturally and it truly is a chance to reset.  While I love to explore new places, I love vacation fashion! I am not one to shy away from color any time of the year, but when I head out of town, I can promise you I have thought far more into my outfits than I do on a normal Tuesday.

It's a chance to switch things up a bit.  It is your opportunity to try new things, step outside of your comfort zone.  If you are a little more timid with breaking into new style categories, a trip out of town is the perfect place to start! You don’t know anyone. They have no idea it isn’t your norm. You can truly experiment with anything! I know a lot of people like to wear leisure clothes or barely any clothes at all, when they are on vacation but if you haven’t taken an outfit you absolutely love on vacation and whipped out all the accessories for it, this is your sign to give it a try this summer.  I fully believe in the statement, “look good, feel good, do good, be good”.  You never know the confidence you might bring back up.  You will start spicing up your regular days, romanticizing your every day, if you will.

That’s what this little slice of Lo’s Must Knows is all about this month.  While I will definitely have some leisure outfits in here, especially for a vacay workout or travel day, this blog post will focus on resort wear that you can wear out to dinner, shopping, or perhaps into the night for some nightlife.  I also love a good swimmy.  If I am at a resort, I want to be wearing my best bathing suits and boy does Amazon have some really cute ones this season!  I can’t really link TJ MAXX finds due to the nature of that beast but don’t be afraid to skim those aisles, I have found some really great brands at TJ's that have been perfect for a full beach day.  Plus the quality is amazing, so it is sure to stick around year after year without much fade or tear.

Travel Day Outfits

The ultimate comfy but cute travel option.  This set has been in my cart on Amazon for a while.  I spotted it and at first thought it wasn’t really dressy enough for me, even for a travel day outfit, but after eyeing it literally every time I was on Amazon, I decided it was a must have for me. If I love it, I guarantee you I will buy it in every color. They have neutral options available, but as y’all know, I need all the color.  The rose red was top of my list but the orange pink and light blue are next in line.  This set is easy to dress up or down.  You can definitely add some simple sandals or a cute pair of tennis shoes.  I would even add a cute layered necklace set and probably a headband.  Travel in style for under $30!  This technically says pajama set, but nobody is gonna know.. it is the ultimate comfy cozy set and another must have in every color possible.  Throw on a hat, a cute pair of tennis shoes, and don’t forget the necklace.  I actually am going with the beige option because I want to add my pop of color in the tennis shoes, plus I think it will truly pop on a tan.  So if you go that route, it’s a coming home outfit for sure.  Even better, it’s also under $30.

There is nothing I love more than a long sleeve shirt with shorts.  There isn’t a better place to wear it than a resort, especially post a beach day or strolling around the resort early morning or late at night.  It will last you right through fall and can easily be worn in many different ways. The green option screams summer resort to me. I couldn’t pick another color after seeing it. An under $40 find and the quality and reviews look amazing! Buy it now and save!!

I love a jumpsuit.  A great dress up or dress down option and under $30.  Plus, it’s on sale right now too! I picture this with a great hat and extra jewelry! I know that feels counter intuitive to the comfortable aspect of travel outfits, but I’m extra and sometimes I just can’t dress down, especially when I am excited about vacation. The luxury of this though is you can have the outfit, still wear it casually if you choose, & still look super cute doing it.

My plan was to only share four of each category because honestly I could share outfits all day long, but I just couldn’t pass this up.  A dressier option, perfect for a day of shopping or a day out on an excursion.  It is super cute & light, but looks really put together.  That is my recipe for a fabulous outfit.  As with all of these, you just can’t beat a set.  I sometimes hate trying to find a pair of shorts or pants to go with the shirts I love, but with a set, the thinking is out of it. Did someone say pockets!?

Bathing Suits for Any Vacation

I love seeing really styled bathing suits, complete with hair, makeup, and jewelry on the beach or at a lake day.  To some extent I am that way too, but I am not a big makeup wearer when water is involved so I combat that with really cute swimsuits.  If the focus is on my outfit, it’s not on my makeup-less face 😊  But nonetheless, a cute hat and some small earrings is always a yes.  These bathing suits definitely have the mom in me in mind because I am way past the bikini stage, but I will throw a few bikinis in there that I love too.. if I could wear them.  Also, let me say, “wear what you love and feel comfortable in” You don’t need approval.

I wore this on our cruise to Mexico and let me just tell you, it was perfect for the colorful stops we visited in the Mexican Riviera & it’s pink!!  It comes with a skirt, which I definitely used, added a cute pair of flip flops & a hat. I will wear it all summer.

Another cruise purchase which garnered a lot of compliments- probably one of my favorite things to date that I purchased!  It comes with the skirt as well, but my favorite part of this suit is without a doubt the detail going down the front.  It’s easy to wash, comfortable, and a totally unique suit!

While the other two work for all ages, I think this one is a little more mom geared, but it allows you to be covered while still looking cute.  The skirt ties up to add a little flare, but you can wear it long too. I love this suit purely for the comfortable aspect. It is on my favorites and will also be an all summer long repeat.  I am not a big fan of swimming suits that are tight or pull, but I will wear them if the look is worth it, but this one, it’s one I would live in. Color, a little flutter sleeve, and a skirt to match- the perfect combo! The happiest of attitudes while you are wearing it too.  I feel like I love all of my swimsuits this year so don’t be surprised when I say this a top favorite as well.

Color block and high waisted!! I mean can you even—when I get a little more comfortable, maybe next summer, this will be top of my list.  And in this color way too!! The cutest suit on the internet.. maybe that’s extreme, but it is really cute.  It comes in a multitude of colorways too—under $20! Please be warned, the reviews look fine, but I haven’t personally purchased this one yet.

The cutest three piece suit! I love the prints and the style.

A best seller on Amazon’s list.  You best believe if I was in the stage of life where a bikini made sense for me, I would have bought this and never looked back. Along with the others, there are several different color and style options!

Vacation Dresses

My favorite part of vacation, as mentioned above, is without a doubt the dresses and dinner time outfits.  I plan my outfits out weeks in advance.  I, of course, have the attitude that every trip needs its own outfit lineup!

A little boho, a little beach, a lot of floral. A comfortable maxi that would be complete with a cute pair of wedges, a cute headband, and some statement earrings!

Bright, a color block, and would be super cute with a wicker handbag! It screams resort wear to me and I can imagine tons of ways to dress it up.

One of my favorite finds.  This looks so vacation and is a very classy take on the maxi dress.  I would save it for the more dressed up dinner. I always have one fancy one on my itinerary. I would definitely lay some jewelry, add a chunkier heel, and a cute bag!

A little more casual but no less cute. I love a flutter sleeve detail if you can’t tell.  The blue color will really pop against the ocean and it’s a very light weight dress.  Not a common thing for me to say, but I would go lighter with my jewelry, add a flat sandal, and a wicker purse.

I am not going to a resort any time soon, but this was an instant add to cart for me.  I mean this dress is beautiful. Resort or not- a great dress for vacation or even a function at home!

Cover Ups and Lounge Wear Made for Vacay

A few extras that can be worn as cover up, lounge wear, or even pajamas.

I am really into the printed two piece sets, especially when they are under $30 and on sale to boot. This is super soft and I wear it as a work from home outfit too! I think a slicked ponytail is the cutest way to wear your hair with it!

I can’t have too many outfits without the pink.  I love the pink and green combo. It is the same material as the outfit above!

Linen, with an added ruffle to spice up the plain set. I love a wedge with this outfit. It would be great for a day out or even travel days!

Organza and the brightest colors! I may add this now in every color.

I love the idea of short sleeve sweaters.  This one is lightweight and is SO cute with a great pair of denim or white shorts.

I love color block on shirts because it makes an outfit pop without adding a lot of extra accessories.

Oversized, color block, perfect with shorts or pants, stripes...YES PLEASE.

There are so many more things to share.  Shoes, jewelry, purses, towels, accessories galore!! Be sure to follow along on Instagram to see the outfits styled with the corresponding add ons!
