I love nothing more than a Saturday spent in Small Town USA, exploring all the squares and southern communities have to offer. I truly believe the saying that small businesses are the backbone of our economy and in these communities, you will truly find the best locally owned shops out there. I have found that each town has its own charm and something unique that continuously draws you in, no matter how many times you visit. From friendly hellos, to down home cooking, you are sure to find a Saturday well spent.
Our first "Small Town Saturday" is one of the most unique small towns I have experienced yet. Nestled in the heart of the best middle Tennessee views and made up of less than 7,000 people, Lynchburg boasts a charming town square, a bed and breakfast turned family style restaurant, and a distillery that makes one of the most well known whiskeys, Jack Daniels. Grab your ladies or schedule a day date and let’s go to Moore County.

Visit their gift shop for gifts that prove you toured or to get some of that Jack Daniel’s whiskey by buying a personalized barrel or a shirt
Fun Fact: Jack Daniel’s is one of the only major distilleries that actually make their own whiskey barrels
If you visit at Christmas, there is a Christmas tree made up of some of these barrels.
Lunch: Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House
You truly cannot beat this experience. One of the coolest places I have eaten to date, and I have eaten at a lot of places. Set in a house, where diners head to separate rooms when they hear the dinner bell, this is a true southern experience you do not want to miss.
Mary Bobo's is a sit down Sunday family style dinner. You'll pass around some good ole home cooking with your party and a few other, soon to be new friends! You’ll learn all about Jack Daniels, Lynchburg, and the bed and breakfast that was Mary Bobo’s.
Adults, kids 10+ $29.95 plus tax
Kids under 10 $10.95 plus tax
Be sure to call ahead for reservations. They do take walk ins, but the rooms fill up quickly.
Please note, if you want to pay with card, you will pay when you book and you have to pay for the entire party. If you want to pay separately, pay for at least one party with reservation and bring cash for the other party.
Also bring cash to tip those servers! Many of the servers are brought in by scholarship. Ask your table host for more information!
Fun Fact: Jack Daniels ate and stayed at Miss Mary Bobo’s in his day.
While you can get other options, Sweet Tea is their specialty
